Big Boy Who is FOUR!

Benjamin Monroe is 4 years old today! I don't usually do a blog on Saturday, but I can't NOT write a blog about my little boy who is getting to be so big! He is our blond-haired, blue-eyed wonder boy! He reminds me more and more every day of my grandpa, who's in heaven now. I do believe the 2 of them would've gotten into a lot of trouble together.

It's been a good year this past year, but a challenging and hard year too. Ben has now been in speech therapy for a year. He has come leaps and bounds this past year and is doing wonderfully! I would say, as a family, we can understand about 90% of what he says now, as opposed to about 10% last year. He has gone from not having many words to now having so much to say we have to remind him to slow down, concentrate and say the words he knows. We are so thankful for his therapist and especially thankful the Lord led us to the place we take Ben.

Ben has also become way more interested in coloring, painting, cutting and using playdoh. He's also our engineer and is forever wanting to know how things work. We had to replace the hard drive on our laptop, and David gave him the old one. You would have thought he'd been given the greatest treasure ever! He was even MORE excited when David gave him a screwdriver to open it! Ben loves machines and airplanes. I often wonder what the Lord is forming him to be. Ben is brilliant. He thinks of some of the most complex things, things I think are beyond a 3, now 4, year old. We have to stay 1 step ahead of him.

Ben will be starting preschool in September and is very excited for this! And, so are we. We're excited for him to have some friends who are boys (he's always surrounded by girls...), and do things on his own. I have a feeling it'll be an adjustment not to have his older sister around telling him what to do and when to breathe! HA!

Benjamin, we love you so much! We are so thankful for you, and we love watching you as you discover the world around you!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
